Battery Change

One of the Most Important Components in Your Vehicle?

The battery is one of the most important components of a Volkswagen vehicle, but it is one that is often overlooked. You need a battery with a charge to get your vehicle started, and you can easily find yourself stranded somewhere if you don't switch it out when it's near the end of its life.

Signs To Look For

As a rule, you should at least check your car's battery every five years. In fact, it's always best to change your battery when it gets this old just to be on the safe side. You might need to change your battery sooner than this five-year mark, however. To know for sure whether or not you will need a new battery for your vehicle, pay attention to some of the following signs:

  • An engine that cranks slowly when it starts
  • New issues with electrical components that you didn't notice before
  • A strange smell

Of course, you may also see a warning light on your dashboard when your battery is reaching the end of its life, but you cannot always rely on this. After all, one of the signs of a dying VW battery is when electrical components start to fail, for example, your warning lights not coming on.

If it turns out that you do need a new battery, don't hesitate to make a service appointment with David Maus Volkswagen. We will be happy to provide you with a new battery for your VW vehicle, so contact us today if you have any concerns or questions about your battery.
