VW Navigation

If you haven't updated your Volkswagen navigation system since you first purchased your vehicle, now is the right time to investigate how you go about this process. We here at Orlando Volkswagen North recommend that you complete this process at least once per year.

These updates will incorporate the thousands of miles of road additions added each year, and you'll save fuel by not getting lost often. When it comes to finding businesses, hospitals, parks, parking lots, and schools, this is also included in your updates. If you don't know the first thing about updating your Volkswagen's navigation system, here's what you need to know.

VW Navigation System

The Volkswagen Website

On Volkswagen's main website, there is an opportunity for you to select your make and model of Volkswagen from a navigation update list. The type of product or update that you need depends on what kind of Volkswagen that you have. Once you are given the necessary information, you can order your DVD navigation update disc. Once it arrives, this is a fast and straightforward process that you'll complete.

  • Make sure that you have turned your engine on. It should be running when you make the updates.
  • Place the DVD into your CD player.
  • There will be prompts that pop up on your screen. Follow them as directed.
  • The updates will run for around twenty minutes or so. Make sure that you have enough time to let everything run entirely. You don't want to turn your vehicle off in the middle of the process.
  • Remove the DVD, and turn off your car when you are alerted that the process has been completed.

If you're confused by the process of selecting your navigation update disc, or you're not comfortable completing the updates on your own, contact Orlando Volkswagen North. We'd be happy to help you with this process, so you have the most updated information possible. If you would prefer, we can set up an appointment with our service department to complete the updates for you.
