Volkswagen of America, Inc. recently announced its foray into generative AI within the myVW mobile app, achieved through a partnership with Google Cloud. Leveraging Google Cloud's AI and machine learning capabilities, Volkswagen now offers the myVW Virtual Assistant, granting vehicle owners streamlined access to essential information and services.
This feature is available to MY24 Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport owners, who can now use Gemini models on Google Cloud's Vertex AI platform to quickly access vehicle owners' manuals, interpret dashboard warning lights, or learn how to change a flat tire. Additionally, Gemini’s multi-modal capabilities allow users to point their smartphone cameras at their dashboards to identify and view helpful details about indicator lights.
Volkswagen has worked closely with Google Cloud to ensure the Virtual Assistant is equipped to provide accurate, up-to-date information at any time. This collaboration guarantees the myVW app aligns with Volkswagen's high standards while delivering a tailored experience for each user.
Starting in 2025, most MY20 and newer Volkswagen owners will have access to the myVW app, which is currently available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, ensuring compatibility across smartphone types.
