What's New For the 2020 Volkswagen Jetta?

Several exciting changes are coming to the Jetta in 2020. Standard on the SEL and SEL Premium and available on the SE and R-Line is a cold-weather package. It adds remote start, a heated steering wheel, heated second-row seats, and heated windshield wipers. Drivers who go with an upper trim also now get a wireless charging pad. Also standard for the top-of-the-line SEL and SEL Premium trims are 17" wheels. Finally, all models now have the latest and greatest version of the Car-Net infotainment system, complete with a WiFi hotspot.

Those interested in the 2020 Jetta have five trim levels to look at. The entry-level S is no slouch with its standard 6.5" touchscreen with smartphone integration through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also has Bluetooth as well as LED lighting. Next up is the SE, which gives the Jetta a sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, and more.

The R-Line is a sportier option, complete with an electronic differential lock and gloss black exterior accents. Drivers can also choose the SEL trim, which adds an eight-speaker premium Bose speaker system, adjustable ambient lighting, satellite radio, and an 8" touchscreen. The final option is the SEL Premium. It gets upgraded leather upholstery, navigation, and a power-adjustable driver's seat complete with a memory function.

How Well does the 2020 Jetta Perform?

2020 Volkswagen JettaAll trim levels of the 2020 Jetta are powered by a 1.4L four-cylinder engine. This produces 147-horsepower as well as 184 lb-ft of torque. Going with the S trim means getting a six-speed manual transmission standard. Optional for the S and standard on all other trims is an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Jetta is a front-wheel-drive vehicle.

The SEL, and SEL premium also adds adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist.
